I have to say, I liked Shanghai more than I expected. People are supposed to be rude - some are, but not that bad. It is supposed to be smoggy - it is. But it is a lot like Tokyo except more Americanized - my only problem - they really don't speak English very well. Anyway, this is the view from the second tallest building in the world - the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC). It is 1614 feet tall and looks like a giant bottle opener (and is apparently loved by architects). Anyway, it also has the world's highest observation deck and this is the view from there. The close side of the river is Pudong and 20 years ago there was nothing but houses here. Simply amazing.
