It can be done! You can use the 35 R Summilux 1.4 on a 5D2! The lens was modified by Duclos Lenses to work on the 5D2 and honestly I wouldn't want to go through the hassles of dealing with them again as they are very difficult to communicate with but it might be worth it.

They basically use a Leitax adaptor and ground down the metal rear lens element housing so it does not hit the mirror. You can attempt this but there is a very high risk of damaging the rear element. There are some instructions linked through at pebbleplace.com if anyone is interested.

An Unknown Mr

An Unknown Mr

A very nice and gentle man who let us take his portrait.
The guide book mentioned that the people of the delta region are uber friendly and it was true.
Shot somewhere in Vinh Long, Vietnam.

Leica R 50 Summicron at f2

If anyone has experience with the 50 Summilux E60 version could you comment on the bokeh from this Summicron shot at f2 and wether you think the E60 would be smoother etc. I'd love to have an E60 but it's just way too expensive and someone once mentioned there is not that much difference between the two at f2.

Temple Mural Detail

Temple Mural Detail

Can't remember which temple this was in Bangkok, somewhere close to Wat Saket, the Golden Mount.

It's incredible the craftsmanship of the workers that built and still build temples in Thailand. Sometimes when the world gets too much I dream of retiring somewhere to a quiet temple and helping to restore it. Living on the grounds and being devoted to the work.

I love minimalist work and admire photographers who do it consistently and do it well. There's nothing better sometimes.

Taken from the window of a plane over the Timor Sea.

Curvature of the earth? more like curvature of the lens! : )

Cheers to Hiroshi Sujimoto and Mark Rothko. I think Sujimoto does Rothko better than Rothko.
