Air transporter

Air transporter by Ahmed Zahid.
The boat is small enough to be handled by Ali,
single handedly.
It is sturdy, functional, minimal, highly aerodynamic and has a carrying capacity of eight,
with room for cargo and provisions.

Freedom.
From fuel, pollution and traffic congestion.

He makes numerous trips a day, to the neighbouring islands
for various purposes.
Work, shopping, fishing, fun or medical.

Ali, like many islanders is a true captain.

He is many in one.
He is aware of the wind direction, wind speed, current movement, boat bouyancy,
sail height and angle, tide times, wave formation, sea depth, coral clusters and . . .
has a hard wired 'GPS' in his brain.

He supports a family of Seven.
Feeding, housing, educating and recreation.

Community spirit is inbuilt within the islanders.
They rely on each other and can survive for long periods without money or
modern day conveniences.

Ali is happy.

Ali WAS happy. That is, until recently on a trip to a nearby island,
he discoverd . . . cable TV!

Life is not the same anymore!

Story coming.

Yes. Whilst we live in a country where people poison each other to death by pollution from vecicles. Cars that weigh 1.5 tons and carry one passenger from one place to the other, among others to his workplace, where he earns the money necessary to escape to an island once a year for a fortnight, spend a lot of money on Bacardi and Rum and fly home again into the hell that he thinks is civilization.

Skatah is my brother.
I gave him the hint today, to have a look at your pictures in flickr - those pics, that are full of life, joy, happyness, freedom and this overwhelming impression of some sort of paradise ...... . But there is also sensible that philosophy, that everybody may read in your pictures and in the words, you say - and this philosophy is of a deep warmhearted manner for all the mankind, for nature and the world, that God has given to us with all its magnificence.
I thank you so much for sharing your life and your thoughts with us on flickr !
