Stranded cargo ship in the North of Holland near Wijk Aan Zee which is near the main harbour entrance at Ijmuiden, The ship has been in the news as it broke free from anchor and got stranded on the beach. Attempts have been made to dislocate it from the sand and the tugs are on standby for high tide which will allow them to carry out this operation.

When we arrived just after sunset there were plenty of 'tourists' milling about the beach taking photographs, myself included. There are more images on my blog.

Rijn Dijk is a polder in the South of Holland, slap middle in the tulip growing area. A beautiful place for hunt for windmills.
