Carnival Splendor in Drydock at BAE Shipyards, San Francisco
Thanks to daver6 for the heads up.
On November 8, 2 days into a cruise on the west coast of California and Mexico, there was a fire in the engine room of the Carnival Splendor that cut power to the entire ship, causing air conditioning and refrigeration to fail. The 4,500 passengers and crew were fed military rations delivered by the US Navy, and spent the next 3 days being towed to San Diego harbor.
