Some people clearly don't know it's coming, but some do...this person looks like they are having a good time with it. Fun shot!

HAHA! this is a funny one! I like. I wonder, did they see it coming?
*ahem* Notice: "Waves may break over sea wall"
Frequently do, too!

@coastal creature - as Mojoscoast pointed out, some people do this for fun. This sure looks likes it.
This is a much easier photo subject than those who get caught by surprise. I do have a few blurry shots of that situation!
Thank you others for your comments. It was a fun day!

I took a series of photos in front of the Lighthouse Hotel in Rockaway Beach. There were the waves crashing over the sea wall, hiding the warning sign. One wave crashed against the glass and a man made a grab for the retaining wall (I guess to keep his feet dry???). Then there was the dog walker. His dog had the sense to look worried. Then there was the runner who suddenly zoned in to attention, and smartly decided to turn around. One man studied the breaking waves, and made a dash for it. Another young man was up on the anchor statute, grabbing it for dear life. People just don't look or pay attention.

one of my favourite photographic pastimes, watching people caught by the waves, they never learn

Oh, man!
That's a terrific capture, Alan. I can only imagine how drenched that person was after that one!
I gotta say, it doesn't get old. I was with my 8 yr-old grandson a couple of months ago in that very spot...it's was a lot of fun tempting fate!
