A warm winter day and clear night allowed me to photograph over time the atmospheric refraction and the lighting of the lighthouse on the Farallon Islands, 27 miles off the coast of Pacifica, California.

You've heard of a sunset, right? This is a Jupiter Set.

Interesting that we celebrate the beginning of a new year with the apocalyptic event of blowing up sky rockets and covering the city with foreboding smoke.

I started taking this photo in 2011, and finished in 2012.

Who cares if there is a d*mn bridge in the way?!
