HALLELUJAH!!!!

After a year of saving my pennies, I finally made my long-awaited laptop purchase. I am so freakin' happy!!!!! I love it.

I think I'm going to name it "Milk," "Mozzarella," or "Ice Cream."

I named my iPod "Bunny," because I wanted to name it after something I love but can't have. So, I think I'll do the same with my laptop.

I can't have a bunny because of two reasons: Riley gets really instinctual and murderous when it comes to them and Jason is HIGHLY allergic. It's a bummer.

I know what year it is, crabbypants. It does matter when I'm working from home on projects I do with other people at the office: we still use non-open type fonts, for example. It's not so much about capabilities as it is about file transferring anymore.

Besides, I'm more comfortable using a Mac and find that I can trouble shoot it better and work faster on it. When I work on Jason's PC, it takes me longer to do stuff because it's not as intuitive to me. Especially when it comes to Key Commands, which is very integral to my work habits.

I suppose if I designed on an island in a total self-sufficient way, that it wouldn't matter at all. But it complicates things when I receive a file from a designer or a pre-press dude and none of the fonts translate between our machines or I've got to deliver back a file they can use.

Maybe in another few years the Mac/PC thing will be totally up to preference as opposed to usage and work flow.
