Really nice. This is actually very funny; I almost built something just like this, to feature a Tanuki! Great minds must think alike...maybe I'll tackle something like this soon; I love how you created the water! =-D

Thanks for the compliments everyone, I'm really glad you all like it. I'd love to see something like that from you, Jordan, but I wonder - are there actually Japanese raccoon species?

I'll get the bad out of the way, and say that it looks like you had your ISO set a little high, and that causes some grainy-ness, and with digital a little bit of pixelization.
The good, this is a freaking awesome build, the little things seem to make a big difference

The Big Rafalski says:

Ok, nevermind, i looked at the properties, and as the photo was taken at ISO 80, that is not really the problem, though it looked that way. I would now say that having you aperture set to wide open (2.8, small as the numbers on your sony get yes?) and that the 1/200th sec exposure might have been a little to long, and to much light reflected off the moc in some spotss. but if you change these numbers you most likely will not get the bright white background. eh, play with it

Yeah, I told you something went amiss with the image quality. I believe both of these pictures were taken under the typical photographic consitions but a lack of sufficient lighting forced by to brighten the images artificially in a photo editing program. I think that was the downfall. Thanks for the photographical evaluation as well as the nice comments! P:

That is just awesome.

The grainyness doesn't bother me, by the way - I would expect it comes from photo editing. I use Redynamix for most Lego pictures. That does make pictures a bit grainy (depending on settings, too) but it is vital to change black areas from a dark mass into visible parts.

Thanks you two! I enjoyed your series of Japanese themed MOCs posted on TBB yesterday, Andrew; my favorite turned out to be the only one of the four I hadn't seen before, so thanks for that! I'm even hoping that we might even get another similar string sometime soon. =)

"For all these years, my certain zen:
neither I nor the world exist.
The sutras neat within the box,
my cane hooked upon the wall,
I lie at peace in moonlight
or, hearing water splashing on the rock,
sit up: none can purchase pleasure such as this:
spangled across the step-moss, a million coins!"
- Shutaku.

Sorry it reminded me of that aha, wonerful scene, very peaceful!
