Vic Vega

Went with Marie to take a few pictures of Vic. We were trying out her new Lumedyne flash head. It's a bit magenta-ish, which can be seen in Vic's clothes... they were black. Aside from that color shift, all seems well with the equipment, so Marie's really happy and I'm glad for her.

This isn't *really* HDR, since the 32-bit-per-channel image was generated from multiple versions of the same RAW file. Still, I like that much of the detail is brought out and the whole "HDR-ish" effect works well for this type of portrait.

I'll probably be working a few more throughout the day, as permitted by the way nasty cold/allergy attack I'm currently suffering.

I appreciate you all taking the time to comment!!

dhevi_anais: Like I mentioned in our earlier conversation, I like this portrait, but I don't think it projects what Vic does as an artist.

      merkley??? & traveler2020: much appreciated.

Regina Retina: Baby, you know it!

      J. Star: One of the benefits (pitfalls, perhaps?) of shooting in plain daylight with a battery-powered flash system. Back when I worked with a local photographer as an assistant, we'd shoot like this every damn day of the week. Now that my good friend Regina Retina got herself a small Lumedyne system, I can put all that practice to good use.

      Thanks again for the comments...

Still, I greatly appreciate it! ;)

I've been "forced" to do this on more than one occasion. And it can work well, as does your image; well done. Glass Blower

The tag "7xp" and your explanation "single Raw file" doesn't really add up!?! Did you extract 7 copies from that file?

    17. /\ltus (74 months ago | reply)

      Cool shot!

    18. agarzola (74 months ago | reply)

H!ghTower: Shit, you're right! I meant 7 tiff versions out of the one RAW file. Exactly what you said.

Two strobes? No just one... I see two shadows... the closest one from the sun then?
GREAT colors... I think the magenta cast is from post not form the lumedyne. perhaps a tad but not to that extreme.
