Flight grounded

Freezing temperatures and blinding winds grounded many flights on the Sidney pier last week causing seagull chaos for a couple days. However, as west coast temperatures returned to normal this weekend, pedestrians are asked to remain calm as flights resume.

Female Anna's hummingbird (Calypte anna)

Say hi to my new BFF. She's an Anna's hummingbird who has been hanging around my feeder the last couple days. It has been cooler than normal here on the west coast so she has been resting on this bush and feeding all day long. She's quite a poser too.
