Your Excellency,
"AMERICA" brings France a sacred American flag.It was made by the grand grand grand niece of Betsy Rose of Philadelphia who designed and made our Republic first flag.Identical material has been used for it.Commander Richard E.BYRD of the "AMERICA " brings you this flag, begging you to consecrate it on the grave where the valiant French Knight and brave friend of America ,La Fayette, lives in the minge soil about our two countries.
So that ,by appropriate ceremonies, this flag may symbolize the profond gratitude we steel feel for the indomitable sons of heroic France .
May the consecrated flag been return to take it's place in the independance hall of Philadelphia ,where America proclamed for the 2nd time our freedom, thus sealing the circle which units the two Republics in the eternal links of Liberty,Equality and Fraternity.
