    Wow. This is the first shot I've seen that really shows how short the runway is! I can't believe I've landed here...

    Yeah, perspective makes it seem shorter but I can't see it being more than 400 meters long! (4 football fields)
    *UPDATE: A friend corrected me, the runway is 1.8 kilometers long (18 football fields)

    i landed there on my first plane trip! then went back a few times. Almost hit another aircraft on one of the approaches, terrifying. my father lost some friends in one of the flights that crashed on approach

    hey everyone! yes, its really terrifying just the thought of landing there! about the accident, one of my friend's dad was on the plane, and yes, it's really sad, but it has been said that it was a human mistake, every anylisis and investigation points out it was a Human mistake. but still, Toncontin is like the 3rd most dangerous runway, in the world I think.

    Since I took this picture, they have cut away into the hillside, and added 300 meters of runway to it, bringing the total length to 2,163 meters.
