About the Concept
After hearing Philip speak at SLCC '10 about his fondness for his original avatar, coupled with his desire for a new look, the idea was born: Phil Metalhead and Ivy Lane have blended the real life Philip Rosedale with the Second Life Philip Linden to create a Philip Linden avatar version 2. The real life Philip Rosedale enters the picture right up front, with the facial structure having been painstakingly modeled after him by Ivy Lane. Ivy and Phil know version 2.0 has to be fast, easy, and fun, but they also desired to make it professional. The vest, slacks, and shoes lend to the professional look, while the unkempt hair brings the fun to the table and gives a firm nod to the original Philip Linden avatar. The tie is versatile, providing a little bit of everything -- it can be worn loose or even untied, leaning more towards fast and fun, or tied snugly for a more professional look. With a few easy clicks, its entire texture can quickly be changed to a down-to-earth tone or again harken back to Philip Linden 1.0 with a stained-glass texture or the infamous lips.
