Those who know me are probably wondering who has hijacked my Flickr account, as there are two types of photography I really don't do: B&W and people. Yet today I've uploaded both!
Well, don't worry, I'm not an imposter! I just think it's a good idea to move outside your comfort zone occasionally ;)
This shot was taken at the fireworks display in Ripley, Surrey this year. Whilst on my way to set-up for the fireworks, I was hunting for shots, and I saw this child perched on his father's shoulders, silhouetted against the bonfire.
I dithered for a second, as I really don't feel comfortable taking shots of people, and then I took the camera out anyway "just to have a look through the viewfinder". Moments later there was clicking noise ;)
I can't quite decide whether this is a young Luke Skywalker with his first Lightsaber, or a young King Arthur pulling his sword for the first time. Thoughts?
