In 1987 (or thereabouts) my step father got a Laserdisc player. It was a Pioneer unit that could play the newly released CD-V discs. (Not to be confused with VCD.) It was the gold disc on the far left. It could play 5 minutes of analog video with digital sound, and then 20 minutes of regular CD audio.
I was so happy we had this awesome and cool player. Notice the not-so-awesome TV we had at the time to use it with.
Also, the notice that old VCR and ancient cable box on top of it. Had buttons on the top of the box and on the gold and brown remote control.
