Flock

Flock

I got home a bit early today - this was one of those winter days that is really more like spring. As I drove down the driveway, I noticed a flock of cedar waxwings in the top of one of the trees along the drive. There were probably 40 or 50. I took this shot through my (dirty) windshield, because I knew if I opened the door and stepped out they would quickly take flight. It was probably close to 60 degrees (F) today.

Messy little boy ......

Messy little boy ......

I did not take this picture, but I think it shows how he is growing so fast. Into everything! We did not get to see him and his family over Christmas - they were here for Thanksgiving and it was too soon to make another long trip. We will see them in the spring - he is changing every day!

I was inspired by flickr friend tcpix (www.flickr.com/photos/24304517@N02/6663974219/in/contacts/) to post a shot from the Blue Ridge Parkway taken last spring. Here's what we have to look forward to in just a few months! Something to help us through the dreary months when there is no green and no snow to "beautify" things.
