Just showing up...
Hello! Today being the last day of February, I felt I must show up. This month has been so very different for me. I've been busy with various stuff over the past few weeks and not finding time to click/process/upload pictures.
I will continue to upload pictures, albeit at a considerably lower frequency than earlier. I found this little fella back home in our garden.

First up, I do admit that it's been a long time since my last upload. I have missed all your comments. I hope to get back on to my usual pace soon :)
This winter, harsh though it's been, I had a golden opportunity to photograph snow crystals which I so badly lost. In fact, Mother Nature gave me three such chances and I was unlucky each time :( I am very disappointed about that. The forecast for tomorrow says heavy snowfall. So, fingers crossed.
But my fascination for crystals doesn't cease there. These are some home-grown salt crystals, suspended in brine. I like the way they form perfect square crystals. They're all so very alike.
This is not a greyscale conversion. That's how the picture was shot.
What else? I'm going back to my tropical abode on a vacation soon. So, all excited about that! I've missed some warmth lately.

One night, it snowed...
... and snowed and snowed. As heavy snowfall engulfs the whole of UK, nights turn bright and pale. Even as I upload this picture, it's snowing heavily.
This had to be my first upload in the new year!

Goodnight and Goodbye
At last, the year that has been, is coming to an end. This will be my last Flickr upload until next year! The year has been bit rough for me. Hope it eases out a bit this time.
Wish you all a fabulous New Year and a wonderful life ahead.
The picture is a 25 second long exposure shot of trains. The whiteness is due to the snow. It was about 9PM in the night when I shot this and the sky was astonishingly white. The illumination was just surreal.
This is also the 138th image upload for the year 2009. The years 2008, 2007 and 2006 had 34, 58 and 13 uploads respectively. Thus, this year has been quite fruitful for me in terms of Flickr uploads. Hope I can keep up the momentum :)

Bleakness
WARNING: The following is a purely fictitious write-up. Any resemblance to any person living or otherwise is purely coincidental. It can provoke deep thoughts and a serious melancholy can set in. Read at your own peril.
My room is a mess with clothes lying all around. My laptop is a mess with icons and files scattered haphazardly. My mind is a mess with thoughts floating all the time. Nothing, nothing seems to interest me. My life, during this phase is at its unorganized worst.
Today I am not what I had imagined myself to be yesterday. How I wish tomorrow was another yesterday. But I dread yet another today in between. My mind feels numb and incapable of learning new things. It feels as if there's an obstruction and I'm not able to get past in order to think clearly. Everything is a steady deterioration. I hate what I do, I hate myself. There's no end to what I hate.
I feel hungry but I don't feel like eating. Fierce nightmares are a common thing these days. As I think deeper, the world around me ceases to make sense. There's no one to talk to, no one to listen to.
The only solace to all this is the realization that I'm not all alone. Or, am I? Is this the infamous quarter-life crisis? What about the even more sinister mid-life crisis?
From Charybdis to Scylla!
