Writer's Block (52 Weeks, Week 17)

Newer Older

February 23, 2008 -- I'm falling behind on my 52 Weeks shots. )= Not for lack of ideas though, just busy... and lazy. This concept seemed right for tonight.

I just got my new 580EX II; with three flashes I have no excuses any more. ;)

Strobist info:
1 Vivitar 285HV 1/4 power with a 1 stop ND gel, camera left shot through a white umbrella.
1 Vivitar 285HV 1/2 power with 1/1, 1/2 and 1/4 stacked blue gels, on a box behind my chair fired upwards.
1 580EXII 1/64 +2/3 power, snooted and zoomed in to 105mm just out of frame on the upper right pointed down at the pen and paper for some extra pop.
1/160 f/8 ISO 100, 18mm, fired with PocketWizards (MM + PlusII)

Setup shot
Director's cut: alternate angle

Photoshop: Cloned out umbrella reflections in the "wine" glass. (Any guesses as to what's actually in there?)

Peaked at #179 in Explore.
