Chlorophytum comosum (Thunb.) Jacques

Mom Che Puteh's Garden, Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia.

 

Chlorophytum comosum (Thunb.) Jacques "Vittatum". Asparagaceae and also placed in Agavaceae, Anthericaceae, Liliaceae. CN: Ribbonplant, Spider-ivy, Spiderplant. Plants produce adventitious roots down into the soil, and new above-ground shoots. It also produces branched stolons with small white flowers and baby plantlets. Native of tropical Africa and naturalized elsewhere. Cultivated as ornamental.

Chlorophytum capense auct.
