3 cheers for the f'ing internet, mate. And
yes, a nice "little film" :) And
for a change, the picture looked exactly like
what it was supposed to look like, without it
being something that was easily searchable.
If that makes any sense.
What an amazing story! The untimely breakdown
of your MacBook could almost act as the
climax of your own short film. Did they ever
tell you how they came about your photo?
You'd think they'd at least send you a ticket
to see the movie in theatres ;)
... dude, you gave it away for free when they
made millions on the film? ... oy ... i don't
feel bad charging $50.00 for one little print
... you could have at least accepted a token
amount even if it was CC licensed ...
Awesome story - just shows that it's not the
creative wonders that make the big buck
sometimes! Inspiring.. I could do with
$1500 right now to pay for the PS3 I just
bought!
You know, CC and all is great, but if they're
gonna make money, so am I! I've earned almost
$1000 off my photos on Flickr this year,
selling them to Newspapers and magazines who
contacted me out of the blue. I also know of
pictures of my cat being used as wallpaper on
myspace accounts, which I am very cool with
as well. I would be so jazzed to see one of
my photos featured so prominently in a movie!
Congrats.
Wow... you're famous now buddy.. Take more of
these out-of-the-way shots and you'll be in
the credits of other movies as "Director
of Photography", hehe.
Very cool! So glad the blog is displayed
prominently on the home page, otherwise i
would have missed this :) I would have tried to cash in on it too
though, especially when they offered. Every
little bit helps :) btw. I hope you don't get sued for using
THEIR image on your stream..hehe
Thanks everyone for the kind comments; glad
you liked the story.
To everyone telling me what I should do with
my own pictures; I don't tell you what to do
with your stuff—please extend the same
courtesy to me. Thanks.
fetching - Maybe he wasn't "giving it away...for
some greater good," maybe he just didn't
want the money. Some people sell their
photographs for survival and some just take
photos for pleasure. Being credited in a film
as such could be enough of a satisfaction and
an honour!

Well that's pretty fun, I like that they got NASA without really knowing it was NASA or that even playing a part.

That is rather fantastic. You can now say your work has been in a big film, in a roundabout sort of way. ;)
