Twite - Just The Two Of Us

Twite - Just The Two Of Us

Really needed to get out with the camera today so I dragged my dad to the beach in howling winds and rain filled skies, mostly just for a look about but we were lucky enough to bump into a rather confiding pair of Twite. Although they weren't completely settled we did manage a few shots though the abundance of dog walkers didn't help. Im quite pleased even though it's quite a large crop, as I've never photographed twite properly before, just a shame we were on the wide angle's when we had a very close encounter with them.. typical!

Wood Pigeon - Bath Time

Wood Pigeon - Bath Time

I spent a while watching the pigeons having a bath in a puddle in the park. If i had had the light I would have tried for some nice action bathing shots but with what I had I didn't see much point bothering and took a few shots mostly of the wood pigeon bathing, it was almost too big for the puddle as you can see.

Grey Squirrel - In The Flower Garden

Grey Squirrel - In The Flower Garden

I think I've captured a different take on a squirrel image with this little fella digging away in the fenced off flower garden at the Park. Normally you'd see squirrels on on a tree or on the grassy area's so to capture it surrounded by flowers just gave it that something different. I would have gotten lower if it wasn't for the fencing surrounding this area.

Black-Headed Gull - Open Wide and say Ahhhhh

Black-Headed Gull - Open Wide and say Ahhhhh

The gulls by the River were having a right squawking session and I just managed to capture this one sounding off. I think if you look carefully just to the left of the gull you can see the steam from it's breath in the air.

Goldcrest - A "little" bit of birding

Goldcrest - A "little" bit of birding

Finally made it out for some photography today. Although the light was poor I decided to head into chester, as even if I didn't have much luck there's always the shops. Turned out the wildlife was better than the shops and upon entering the park the first birds I noticed were a pair of Goldcrests very low in a Yew tree then dropped to a holly bush at eye level really close to me. With no light it was extremely difficult to get a shot and they didn't stick around for long at all. This one is a big crop but Im still pleased with it. I may return when the might is better to see if I can improve on this shot.
