Lorraine's storyMy third son, Carter, was born on 11th December 2006 at 25 weeks. This was my third pregnancy and this time everything should have been OK, but like my first two pregnancies I went into premature labour and sadly Carter didnt make it.
Words cannot describe how my husband and our families feel. Both babies before died at 22 and 26 weeks so this time the hospital knew there were problems and the extra special care they gave me gave us real hope that this time would be ok. For the same thing to happen again and for no reason doesnt give me any hope of ever carrying a baby to term, or seeing a child of mine grow up. The care I was given and the hospital staff were brilliant but if there was money available in budgets and it isnt being spent, then I feel very angry that its at the cost of my babies lives. Please do all you can to convince this government to spend the money on research into premature births - our future does depend on this.
