sent the non-swing version out for drum scanning. i've been thinking about 4x5 vs. full-frame digital. the good canon/nikon tilt-shift lenses, when the entire image circle is stitched together, almost match a sharp 4x5 slide, imo (though you could stitch multiple 4x5 frames too). but as soon as camera movements are added, you lose a lot of the ability to stitch. and stitching poses its own issues. so i'll be using my 4x5 for my pre-planned shots for a while longer i think.

    bigger version (3600px).

There are other benefits in shooting film over digital that I found out.

As an alternative to using T/S lenses on DSLRs, have you thought about attaching a DSLR to your 4x5?

Nice shot. Would love to shoot from that location for my project as well!

My advice is (1) don't start going 8x10 as from your comments you will become addicted... very, very addicted... and (2) never rent a tech cam with a Phase back!

This is a really eye-pleasing shot, especially large. This may actually remind me when I'm out to use my tilt function a little more often for creative purposes. Oh, and solid view!

Cool idea with the vertical tilt shift effect.

side note: "tilt-shift" in your description needs a little "shifting" if you know what I mean. ;) lol

I'm glad you're thinking aloud when it comes to 4x5 versus 35mm stitched T/S images. I'm going through the same dilemma myself at the moment, or rather, I'm wondering if it is better to stitch together multiple shifted images or use a wider angle lens and crop afterwards. The positives and negatives are too many to list here, but I have learned that for exterior spaces, stitching is the way to go. And for interiors, cropping a wider angle lens seems more consistent. That being said, I'm leaving a tripod out of this entire equation, as steady hands does the trick for me 98% of the time.
