I really like this because there's loads to look at and lots of detail to notice.

How long was your shutter open for?

The bridge looks perfect in this. You don't expect it to be there. Excellent. And, yes, my shot was from Glacier Point. Make sure you drive up there.

Is this HDR, Exp. Blending, Exp. Fusion? Just plain
      ol' Photoshop? What?
The outcome, however the editing is slendiforus.
      I want it!

There were three exposures blended here, the longest being 30 seconds. I think I also combined software +1EV and +2EV images because it was still a little dark after 30 seconds.

I used Photomatix's Exposure Fusion tool with images in the "neutral" color mode. From there, I used Nik Software's Capture NX 2. I mostly used Color Efex filters--tonal contrast, ink, cross processing, a little bit of glamour glow. Then the usual adjustments--contrast, unsharp mask. Mostly the aim was to eliminate the orange hue that you get with night shots of the city. Cross processing and ink also make the shadows slightly blue.

Thank You SO MUCH. That ices it! I need to get a new version of Photo Matrix.
The copy I have does not have this Exposure Fusion that I keep hearing about.
Mine only has Exposure Blend tool. Thanks again for the great info. You NYC
dudes are all right. Ken B.

That is a sweet image, Andrew. The bridge sticking up in back just makes the shot... along with all your super duper stars on the streetlights!
