I tried and tried to photograph these in
Kathmandu and just couldn't get the
composition right. You, on the other hand,
succeeded!

Hello TomBrooklyn. These dyes are used for
the Holi festival, also known as the festival
of color (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holi). On the main day of the festival, people
spray each other with powdered dyes and
colored water. I believe they wear white,
and end up the day looking like an abstract
painting :) I'm sure the dyes have other
uses as well...not sure what.
