Through March 18 at Palais Orleans 20 artists and 20 pieces . . .all representing the title of or a line from a Leonard Cohen song on exhibit. Organized and curated by Morgana Nagorski. Additional pieces are displayed in a garden area outside the main gallery.

Based on the Leonard Cohen song "Joan of Arc."

Now the flames they followed Joan of Arc
as she came riding through the dark;
no moon to keep her armour bright,
no man to get her through this very smoky night.
She said, "I'm tired of the war,
I want the kind of work I had before,
a wedding dress or something white
to wear upon my swollen appetite."
Well, I'm glad to hear you talk this way,
you know I've watched you riding every day
and something in me yearns to win
such a cold and lonesome heroine.
"And who are you?" she sternly spoke
to the one beneath the smoke.
"Why, I'm fire," he replied,
"And I love your solitude, I love your pride."

Artist and curator Morgana Nagorski, in a moment of reflection, at last night's reception for the opening of "Unified Heart" - twenty artists' tribute to the words of Leonard Cohen. In front of her picture of "Dance Me to the End of Love." Morgana conceived and executed the exhibition.

Reception continues today (1/22/12) from 12 - 2 p.m. SLT. Show runs through March 18.

Caught the always creative and very striking Harbor Galaxy at last night's reception for the opening of "Unified Heart" - twenty artists' tribute to the words of Leonard Cohen. Right before she left and I crashed . . . so many people attended. In front of her picture.
