I was a college Letterman in basketball my freshman year at a small NAIA college (anyone see the movie “white men can’t jump”?). I transferred to a D1 school and was asked to try out to walk on but I would have had to sit out a year. It was at that point I decided to concentrate on academics and gave up organized basketball. I continued to play almost every night until my back surgeries. An 11½ inch incision makes it difficult to cut and move like I used to. I don’t play much anymore but I still love the game. BTW that is a 1989 Dyron Nix Tennessee basketball jersey I won in a 3 point contest at a UT basketball camp.
my nickname growing up was "Swish", I used to have a license plate on my car "swish3's"

:o) Love this for so many reasons! I played college ball too.. at such a small college that we got our @zzes whipped by NAIA teams, lol. Several years later I coached girls ball... HS mostly but started with the 8th graders. Took a team that had only made it to states as a wild card to a team that finished 2nd in the state my last year coaching. Loved every minute of it.... but can't live on coaches pay. (not there anyway)
