if you've been following my work at all you know that i'm not a gadget guy and that i think a good photographer can take great pictures even with a $20 camera.
that said, i just bought a new Nikon D7000 (!)
mostly, i wasn't satisfied with the AF system of my D90, and i've thrown away so many shots because it was always a little off. also, i love low light photography, and the high iso performance of the D7000 is supposed to be spectacular.
well, after trying the camera for a whole day, i can say this is the best camera i've ever shot with, including the Canon 5D Mark II i used for a wedding once. it's fast, precise and just feels perfect...
i took this shot earlier tonight without a tripod or remote because i left both at home. just put the camera on the roof of the car and exposed for 30 seconds at f8 and ISO 100. this is pretty much straight out of the camera, i just cropped and resized the image in photoshop and added some vignetting.
by the way, this place is called Capranica, a beautiful midieval town about 50km outside of rome
