each other:
1+9+9+4 occurred during the first nuclear crisis on the Korean peninsula. The Clinton administration tried to cool that issue by promising to build two light-water reactors in North Korea while IAEA inspectors would verify the non-production of nuclear weapons in North Korea. The construction of those power plants slowed down through the years and were entirely stopped by the early Bush administration. In reaction to this, North Korea expelled the UN inspectors and began to reprocess fuel rods from January 20+0+3 on. Until today it is unclear if North Korea really possesses nuclear weapons. On the other hand, North Korea is now being blackmailed by the US to freeze all of its nuclear activities. Currently, the USA sells 42% of all global weapons & misrepresents the North Korean nation as part of an "axis of evil"-- an antiquated projection!
But mainly the US continuously isolates and besieges this little country without providing sufficient aid to its hungry inhabitants. Hundreds of thousands are dying.
Japan, which had brutally exploited all of Korea during the years 1910-1945, is following the same US policies towards North Korea. Through imperialism, Japan developed its own economic power. It's strange to believe but the aggressive warring nation, Japan, was not divided in four parts after WWII as Germany had been.
Instead, the victim, Korea, was divided in two. Out of this division, Japan again could make a lot of money during the Korean war(1950-1953) and develop it's economy in the second half of the 20th century.

It is almost completely impossible to have a view beyond the DMZ--the world's most militarized border--into North Korea. Very seldom can we get news out of the Hermit Kingdom, and Kim Jong-Il,the enigmatic „Dear Leader“, rules his people in an unscrupulous, Stalinist style but he is one of the few political leaders in the
world who dares to contradict the one-dimensional propaganda of the USA & Japan.

My sonic image had been done with a computer by using distorted shouts of Korean shamans, archaic sounds, voices, trumpets as well as the plateaux of „clicks and cuts“.
I am aiming at painting an atmosphere where I project onto a non-transparent region in the context of its brutal history.

Likewise the CD,“TT“ (righteous), was done with a computer. The Korean letters of the title sound like "oo" in English and look similar to the Egyptian life symbol "ankh" as well as the roman letter "T".
The theme of this CD is the attack onto the WTC on the 9+11+2+001. That attack was also an attack on a symbol and the music tries to draw a picture during the very moment of the catastrophe in a sonic slow-motion/time-lapse as well as the aftermath of this enigmatic event, whose origin until today is unclear and based only on suspicion.

I partly mixed fake Hollywood cinema-music to refer to the many American cinematic models of the real destruction of the skyscrapers. Ground Zero: from the peak of the Twin Towers to the subway at Wall Street, near Chinatown, to the holy grounds of the Sufis in Afghanistan & Persia...
"911" is a motif for unilateral attacks of the strongest and richest nation of this world against two of the poorest countries and, meanwhile, reaches out toward a high pressure siege of yet a third poor country: North Korea
