As a started making photograph, I was fascinated by high key portraits. That is now 6 years ago.
It`s time to try some new high keys with better equipment.

I just used the Apollo 50" softbox behind me with a 430EXII in manual mode (1/2 power) inside. Triggered via ST-E2.

After so much stress in the last time, I had some time, to make a new picture.
One of my 580EXII`s was damaged and I had to send it to the CPS. After two weeks and a price of 100 bugs, I have it back. So I had to make some test shots...

The basic idea was to test if I can use the Apollo 50" as completely white background. As you can see, it works fine.

430EXII in Apollp 50", manual mode 1/2 power. 580EXII in Apollo 28", manual mode, with 1/8 power. 430EX with grid to light up the "Westcott" on the 28" softbox. Manual mode 1/8 power. Triggered via ST-E2.

The idea of this picture a have in my mind since a while. Today I tried to bing this idea to live. Hmm the result is ... so lala. In my mind, it could look better. But now I know, what I can do better the next time...

Overhauled version!! I added fire to the evil-mad_airbrush.

So here comes the first shot with the new lightning modifier. I tried to use only smooth light for this picture.
I'd realized that the Apollo 50" is huge, specially if you use it in your living room... ;-)

I`d like to intoduce you my new "family members". Here are my two new Westcott Apollo Softboxes, on the left side the 28", on the right side the 50" version. I think the 50" is the famous "big mama", which Dustin Diaz used for his 365 day project.

In the 50" sb I used 3x 430EX in ETTL mode. In the 28" sb one 430EX, in ETTL mode, too. To light up my face, I used one 580EXII with a shoot thru umbrella (also in ETTL mode). Triggered via ST-E2
