Main Street Electrical Parade in Town Square (explore)

Press L to get a better view!

The night that I went to MK EMH after the boys were asleep, I shot Wishes from the TTC then headed straight for the train station. Joe & Don were already there with tripods setup, and I had a great bit of luck - another gentlemen right next to them with his tripod setup was just leaving and I was able to take his prime spot.

First, about MSEP - LOVED it. When the intro started, it was like being transported back to my early childhood. I think Joe, Don & Becky can attest to the size of my goosebumps.

Second, I decided to go fisheye for this (me use fisheye? I know you're surprised), it's something I've wanted to try ever since seeingTom's UWA Spectro shots. Thanks for the inspiration as usual, Tom.

Lastly, I picked this shot to share because the turtles are the most recognizable symbol of the MSEP for me - not sure why, I've just always liked them best - and I like how you can see their wild path.

32 second exposure.

Thanks for looking, I love your comments :)

You took Tom's incredible shot/idea and made it something really special. I love the fact that you have the crowd included and can make out certain parts of the parade/floats.

Amazing job on this Cody! One of my favorite parade photos ever.

Now this is just totally awesome. The foreground crowd really adds a lot. Excellent execution! I'd love to revisit my shot someday now that I have a fisheye, but the first time I did the shot, I had to wait like an hour for the spot. Too long for me to wait for a parade!

My shot wasn't something really special? :,(

Incredible Cody. I love what the fish does to this shot. The turtles are my favorite too - I enjoy their spin and movement. Instant fave!

Outstanding! I love how the parade forms a ring of light around the center of the square. The high PoV and fisheye are perfect.

really gorgeous shot, perfectly captured and makes me wish I was there too!!!

Great shot from a great location. I've never been up there for the parade, it's just too intimidating trying to make that happen when dragging along kids! The long-exposure night parade shots often seem a little flat from ground level but it works great from this prospective.

Absolutely brilliant. You timed it perfectly to get a sense of the motion but still distinguish the turtles

Fabulous! The colours are great and so is the clarity, even of the castle, all the way back there! Very creative, and very, very well done!

I think the decision to use fisheye has paid off. When I fist saw this I thought it must be a pano till I read your description but to try and stitch this would have been messy with the light trails being so essential to the image. Nice work :)

The EXIF lies because my fisheye is fully manual. This was either f/16 or f/22
