Warbird

Well, it's been about a month since I even took out the camera to do some photography, mostly due to the holidays (much of which I was sick for). Last night I was reminded that the Shacknews Photography assignment with the theme “Up Close” was due at midnight so I decided to play with an idea that had been floating around in my head for about a month or so. Neither of the keepers came out quite how I had envisioned but nonetheless I’m happy with the results. This one is probably closest to my original idea. I used a 50mm f/1.8 lens combined with the Raynox DCR-250, the first time I had used that combo before. This model one of the Hallmark Star Trek ornaments that I got from my mom a few years back (she's an ornament freak!).

Anyway with the holidays over and me feeling better I’m hoping to get out and do some more landscape photography soon. I’ve been stuck in the house for the past week so I’m really itching to get outdoors! Hopefully it won’t be another month before you see a new photo from me!

A little late for Halloween I know, but whatever. Found this thing hanging in the trees on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere a couple weeks ago.

We didn't stick around very long, haha
