working 9 to 5

This is my working day these days, the hustle bustle of the city, a far cry from the peace and tranquillity of rural Wales. Yet amongst all the rushing, the unfriendliness, there's still a charm to the whole place which is unmistakable.

I took this one on the way back to the hotel after work today, looking through the glass on the footbridge at the DLR heading into the city.

Each has its own appeal. You get the best of both worlds this way, and I am sure you will come away with a greater appreciation for the quiet life. I am sure London is like New York City, a fun place to visit and stay for a while, but you really wouldn't want to live there. Like the pic too.

Thank you Mike. I think i'm already getting a greater appreciation for back home, I just wish I had more time at the weekends to appreciate it now.

Nothing like working in a a city to give you a sense of perspective.
I like living in the back of beyond but you do get more colour and randomness in cities.

      Nice frame BTW.

very cool! The train is great. I usually don't complain about the darkness in your shot. I quiet like it, but this I wish I was able to see more of the road below the bridge... just my two cents... :-)

i really like the title for this one. the pic is good too! haha but really, the red stands out so well here, especially coupled with the shadows.

That's what I call a contrast. Still I certainly has energy and vibrancy. I've always found cityscapes easier than landscapes, all those straight lines are far more cooperative!

The train and elevaed track pull through the frame, separating the city into light and dark. Great composition. I especially like the darkness of the bottom
