Broom

Installation Servet Koçyiğit @ 9th Istanbul Biennial.

About a dozen artist created installations in the derelict rooms of the Deniz Palas Apartments, a former well-to-do-building along the river in Istanbul.
Koçyiğit refers to an angry expression by Turkish housewives to their husbands: 'I turned my hair into a broom for you' (or something in that direction).
In Koçyiğits installation the broom (actually made from hair) slowly makes it way through the rooms, animating the place in a peculiar way.
