Sidney Myer Free Concerts 2007 - No.1 |
For over 70 years, the Sidney Myer Fund
has given the gift of music with the
Sidney Myer Free Concerts. Performed by
the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
I use to go to these events when I was
little. Vividly remembering the picnics
that my family has whilst anticipating
the Concert to begin.
Just being there has actually gotten
me to think about picking up the Cello
again, as the last time I played my
Cello was in 1999. And definately has
added a few more events in my calender
for the rest of year.
The Repertoire for the evening:
RIMSKY-KORSAKOV The Golden Cockerel:
Suite
RACHMANINOV Piano Concerto No.1 in F
sharp minor, Op.1
KALINNIKOV Symphony No.1
Funny moment: skolling our Skyy Vodka
bottles thinking we're not allowed to
bring them after seeing the security
tent. Later realised that we could've
brought them in...
Not a bad effort for Valentines Day
too!
