A picture that I shot in Mahabalipuram this weekend. The challenge in shooting iconic locations is that it has been shot so many times and there's billions of pictures out there and you need to create one that is unique. and it not a simple task. I saw a group of ladies dressed in purdah walking towards the butter ball and snapped this shot.

If you have been following me for a long time you would know that I'm a big fan of color but at times some special pictures come by where B&W does justice to the image. This is a special one where I thought the colors is just not the way to go.

I have been very fortunate to travel extensively in the last one year so much so that some times the crew knows me by name. I got to see 10 times more places in the last one year than I have seen in the first 20 years of my life in India. When I travel I love to take the inner roads and get a sense of people living there and try to get into conversation with them. It gives me a chance to understand different thought process from different people. It also gives me a chance to compare the different cultures and their habits. Here's one shot to emphasize the same. This is one such comparison. A picture from the kitchen of North and a kitchen from the south.

In this picture you can compare how so many things are different starting from the dress, the way they have been worn, the vessels to the direction in which the stove is pointing towards.
