Star Trails 106 x 30 sec exposures of Langley chimney

Star Trails 106 x 30 sec exposures of Langley chimney

This shot is 106 X 30 second exposures merged so equates to a 53 minute shot, pity I didn't get the pole star in the right place.

Startrails 50 x 30 sec exposures of Langley chimney

Startrails 50 x 30 sec exposures of Langley chimney

I have to find a way of locating the pole star before I start, I think this would have been a little better if the stars had been rotating around the top of the chimney which is what I had tried to get.

Star trails at Sycamore Gap

Star trails at Sycamore Gap

This tree has to be one of the most photographed trees in the UK, with hundreds of shot taken everyday in the summer. I wanted to get something slightly different from the norm, so headed up to Hadrian's Wall as the sun was going down to get a star trail version of a classic image.

This is a combination of 86 X 30 second exposures, shot on Hadrian's Wall.

ISO 200, f6.3, 30 sec, 18mm Shot in standard mode with a Sony A580 and 18/55 kit lens. The temp. was -1 when I set off and -4 when I got back to the car, but the sky was so clear the stars were amazing
