1974 Volkswagen Deluxe Campmobile Restoration

The following set is my ongoing restoration of my 1974 Volkswagen Deluxe Campmobile Westfalia. I bought this on eBay in January 2007 for 3K. I have wanted a VW bus for about 5 years now. Was in OK shape, drove it home from northern New Jersey, in the dark, and I hadnt driven a stick in 20 years. It needed a jump start, not a good sign. Oh, and the gas gauge didnt work. Oh yeah, and the canvas for the pop-top was shredded. And the heat didnt work, and the fresh air vents were open, it was awfully cold, even though we had a warm day. When I went to fill it up at the gas station, I spilled @ a gallon of fuel on the ground. There is a leak in the filler hose to the gas tank. And it was ALL OVER THE ROAD, handling-wise...due to balding, wrong size, cheap-ass tires. Nonetheless, I was mighty happy to at last have a VW bus! Rebecca talked me into getting a Westy, I was leaning towards a Transporter. I need to remember to always listen to her suggestions, she is brilliant!
