~~ Celebration of lights ~~ { Explored }

Please be kind as these are my first attempts with a DSLR to photograph fireworks....
I read up a little bit yesterday....at the below link sent to my by another member...but then got busy with company and was unable to finish reading regarding fireworks photos..
We waited over 2 hrs to finally get these shots ( took over 50 ) ...it was going to start at about 8:30pm but nothing til after 10pm..
I got there early to set up....and was told that they would be set off over the sea so I thought I could get some good shots......but I totally choose the wrong location....location I think is more important that anywhing else..
if I had been farther away I could have gotten the reflections over the water which would be more stunning in my opinion...I was too close and shooting everything above my head...
Used a tripod and the manual settings...Continuous Shooting mode
Well there is always next year or New Years eve ..LOL
Camera: Canon EOS 350D Digital
Exposure: 2.5 sec (5/2)
Aperture: f/8
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0/2 EV
Flash: Flash did not fire

thanks again for your lovely comments and invites.....but I was disappointed as I had been told that the fireworks would be set off in the sea ( by boats ) and wanted to get a few with a perspective of the horizon..and maybe some nice colors of water reflections...but this was impossible as everything was going off over my head..but hey got a free concert, and nice evening meal and even got to here a turkish singer sing '' we will, we will, ROCK YOU '' ...but after waiting so long...a bit of disappointment...
Also any advise or critizim or how I could have made these shots better is MOST WELCOMED....

If this is a first attempt, we have no chance... just keep going my friend!! :-) why wait until next year? just keep an eye on local weddings etc - I realised even village weddings have fireworks these days...
