We finally got a break in the weather. Tonight I drove out to the bay after dark. The sky was kind of blase and I wasn't expecting to get any epic shots. Then a boat in the ocean started showing it's lights. When I saw the light shining between the two pilings, I knew I had to have this shot. After several shots from the road, I climbed down the bank to attempt a shot without the power poles. I got set up and shortly after I clicked the shutter release, the camera and tripod fell over and tumbled into the bay. In the dark, I was sure that the camera was laying in the water. I was lucky. It landed feet first in the water. No damage to the camera or lens.
I didn't get any really good shots from the lower area because the boat was moving at that time. After unloading the RAW files, I decided that the power poles looked alright with the rest of the scene.
