Bloody Oranges

Slices of moro blood oranges (Citrus sinensis) arranged on the lightbox. Shot with a simple set-up, Nikon D80 with 105mm NIkkor micro lens, tripod.

Moro are "full-blood" oranges, with flesh ranging from ruby coloration to vivid crimson, sometimes nearly black. The thick orange-colored peel. They are very sweet, with hints of berry in the flavor.
