US unemployment rate, by county (Dec, 2008)

My most recent map of economic conidtions in the lower 48 States - it shows the geospatial distribution of unemployment rates (%), by county, for December, 2008. These data were not seasonally adjusted. The national average unemployment rate for the same month was 7.1 percent (Bureau of Labor Statistics).

Scott - May I please have a higher-res version, better than the 500x375?
I'll have questions when I can see the embedded graph etc.
      Thanks

      Gary,

Thanks for the note! It seems that Flickr has changed a few things since I first posted this image. The original is 1024x768 and I'm not sure why the best you can download now is 500x375 only. Let me look around...

BTW, I'm preparing the Dec 2010 version, so I'll have a 3-point time series soon.

Gary, Flickr did change its policy.

"If you have a free account, no one (including me) can access your original file. If you upgrade to a pro account, your original files are available for download."

So, I'll find the original on my machine and send you a copy.

It looks like my map is showing up all over the Internet. Almost none of these folks asked for my permission to use the map/image, so please know that the presence of my map/image on these websites does not constitute my endorsement of said websites, their authors or their sponsors. I'll leave it posted here, but lesson learned.
