Your pincushions are so charming! Are they your own design? Have you done a tutorial or is there a pattern I can find for them? You have used such wonderful fabrics and details!

  18. chickenfoot (44 months ago | reply)

    thank you nanotchka!
um, hmmm i have been doing them for so long now
i can look to see if i can find a tute on them for you
they are not my own design, but i think the idea has been around for ages. it is similar to your basic tomato pincushion
with two circles, stuffed, stitched closed then you anchor a length of e. floss and go up and over to creat the "petals". then i finish off with a button and perhaps a fabric flower.

thank you! I'm going to try one today! What do you use to stuff your pincushions?

  20. chickenfoot (44 months ago | reply)

just regular stuffing (polyfil) are you in the us?
i tried a cotton wadding once and i hated the results!!
too stodgy, it didnt give at all and just kind of sat there if you know what i mean
i would love to see any you make!!

  21. nanotchka (44 months ago | reply)

Yes, I'm in Utah. I have some polyfil so I'll try making one today! Thanks so much for all the info!
