Road to Tarague Beach

    Newer Older

This road leads to Tarague Beach on the northern tip of Guam. On the far distance right-hand corner, you can see the island of Rota. This is a single RAW tone-mapped and converted to HDR. Oversaturated and the clouds and foliage sharpened.

I can't believe I ran across this photo. It's not only a great photo, but it's the exact road I used to go down in a rickity old military bus in 1967 when I was stationed on Guam at Anderson AFB. We worked 12 hrs. per day, 6 days per week with 2 days off. On those days off, we always went down that road to Tarague beach and we were scared to death the brakes would give out and we'd all go over the edge. Those are not green plants and foliage from bushes off to the right; they are the tops of extremely tall palm trees. Thought we'd die every time we went down....but it was worth it. Thanks for posting this photo.
