I'm not sure what type of fly this is. It was only about 10mm in length and came in with the shopping from Mount Barker.

Amazing how insects get about.

They have been doing well this year.

Smokey doesn't usually get as much photographic attention as "the dark one", mainly because she never stays still, bites anyone with a camera, and always assumes a less than flattering pose.

However, today I caught her unaware of my intentions, escaped without a bite or scratch, and got this photo.

Tomorrow we've been married for 17 years. This is the chic I hooked up with all those years ago. Definitely a good sort.

I started with a few of these plants, and now I have hundreds. Each of the plantlets, as pictured here, that grow from a stem off the main plant has the potential to form a new plant, and treated with a small amount of care, does.

I think it would be best to be careful not to dump this plant or otherwise let it into the wild for it may be quite invasive.
