Today was the Alloa Half Marathon, a race I managed to struggle round in a time better than I had dreamed likely.

A large portion of this race was along the Hillfoot villages of Tillicoultry, Alva and Menstrie. The weather was wonderful for us, and as we ran along this road it was impossible not to feel good! It really is a beautiful place, especially when the weather is kind!

Today I was at an event very few people will ever get to - a one hundred and second birthday party!

Grandma Boyd, in the chair in the front row, reached that amazing milestone today. Surrounding her are friends and family, with four generations in this photograph.

Congratulations, Grandma, and may there be many more of them!

There are always ways to photograph the Forth Bridges in ways you haven't done so before.

This time it's from Dalgety Bay, but I chose to focus on the seaweed in the foreground. Wonder if it's good for making that funny green stuff you get in Chinese takeaways?

This is a picture of some of the works on the new Forth Crossing from the south side of the Forth.

It's taken from the A904, between Newton and South Queensferry. I reckon that what we are seeing is construction of a road that will be used to transport construction equipment to the site of the bridge construction work, but I may very well be wrong!

The spring must be coming - the grass is certainly growing... I guess that'll be time to break the lawn mower out soon!
