Neptune Fountain, Staten Island, NY

    The original Neptune Fountain on the Grounds of the Snug Harbor Cultural center. The fountain has been replaced by a beautiful bronze replica that includes Neptune wielding a trident. This photo was interesting to me in that a piece of history was sitting forlorn in a short alcove in front of some unused vitrines, with a spotlight from behind as if to say that its brightest days are already gone.
