Madrid![]() This is a Large Format 4x5 picture, I decided to upload it BIG, because it makes no sense if you can´t see the details, so PLEASE watch it BIG
It´s curious, every time I use a new camera, o try a new film, or experience a new format, usually the first roll or sheet in this case, turn out to be a good picture. I don´t know if this is because of the fact that using new stuff makes me think in a deeper way, or it´s just about luck.. but in this case I think is a fact, because I am completelly amazed with the result (hope you too). So yes, this is my first 4x5 picture. Maybe the fact of using this camera, the procedure, the liturgia, the price per picture, forced me to wait for almost a month to take a single picture.. I did not get it to take the same photos I usually take on 6x6, I wanted it to portrait massive detail of complex subjects because I find this feature something amazingly attractive just by itself, even if the subject is terribly boring or plain. There is something magic and amazing about contemplating a large format picture plenty of detail, which I dont´really understand. Of course, flickr is not the right place for LF, this picture should be printed big to admire it´s complexity. For those asking about the how, it was taken from the "circulo de bellas artes" building roof terrace in Madrid, with a graflex super speed graphic plus the standard rodenstock optar 135mm f4.5 lens slightly tilted. bueno, tampoco la has subido "tan" big :)
aún así es alucinante verla en grande.. aunque si te soy sincero, casi la hubiera preferido sin desenfoques tilt ni nada de eso. totalmente enfocada, todo con su detalle y bien en foco.
ahora a sacarla más. y a hacer retratos!
