When we first visited Iran in 2002, one dollar was worth about 800 tuman, i.e. 8000 rials. This was before large denomination "travelers check" bills came into widespread use. So, when we exchanged $1000 into Iranian currency, we received literally a daypack full of 500 and 1000 tuman bills. I felt like a bank robber! Hence, this picture.
